I graduated with a degree in Computer Information Systems: Programming Analysis from Wayne State College, which kickstarted my journey in the tech field. During college, I gained hands-on experience through an internship at GWCC, building a practical skillset. Now, as a Junior Software Engineer at Aristocrat, I’m actively applying and enhancing these skills with an eye toward my ultimate goal of becoming a Senior Software Engineer!

WSC Mobile App
My WSC mobile app was meant to be my ‘dream’ app that I wish I had when I first started attending WSC. This app was designed as a prototype and was one of my first real attempts at following an MVC architecture. It had the ability to display social events, tons of important WSC info, and even had a filtering system for which events you might be interested in. When I was developing it, I even did my best to simulate SQL calls so if there was enough interest, I could easily hook it up to a database.
ACM Website
This was the first website I developed that wasn’t just a practice project. It wasn’t my best work, but it was the work I did while part of ACM as the head of their website committee at WSC. My primary reason for including this project is to demonstrate my ability to work on a team, given that this was done with the help of a few other ACM members.
The Copy Smith
This was my first website made using WordPress/Elementor. My brother, who is a professional content writer, was in the process of reinventing his website, and I was in the process of learning how to make custom WordPress themes. Long story short, with the help of my wife, who is a designer, we designed and developed this website for him.
Blink Marketing Kiosk App
One of my most recent and arguably most interesting projects was the day my wife brought home a Temi Robot. Temi is a glorified Android tablet on wheels. Her company asked her to look into making it more useful, which led to me helping them make it into a Kiosk Robot hooked up with a ChatGPT4 API capable of reading files and providing information relevant to her company.
Best Game Ever
Even though this was my first major project at WSC, it is still by far my biggest. My freshman year of college, I was tasked with creating a game in Java. I was given the freedom to create whatever I wanted as long as it involved Java and Java Swing. I ended up creating a program with over 10,000 lines of code that included everything from PVP to a leveling system. This was the project that made me fall in love with programming!
Homemade Arcade Machine
One of my favorite projects from my time at WSC is definitely my homemade arcade machine I built. Combining a mini PC, microcontroller, coin acceptor, and various other components, I created a prototype arcade machine from scratch. It was designed with the ability to play custom-made Unity games and accept coins like a real arcade machine. To top it off, after I finished working on it, I donated it to my college’s computer club ACM so they could continue to use it for cool and fun projects!
